For many people their holiday home from home wouldn’t be the same without their 4 pawed friends and well behaved dogs are very welcome in our self catering cottages. (Please note Apple Loft and Orchard Guest Suite are kept pet free).

Basil on Meet and Greet duty

There are some great walks straight from the cottages, wood burners to curl up in front of in the evenings, an outside tap to shower off after muddy walks, each cottage has its own patio garden and there is plenty of space for running around and letting off steam.

Devon is a very dog-friendly county and we have plenty of suggestions and maps for everything from gently strolls and walks in the surrounding Blackdown Hills to all day hikes along the nearby Jurassic Coast.

Walk along the banks of the River Otter

Our nearest pubs – the Sidmouth Arms at Upottery and the York Inn at Churchinford – are very hospitable to dogs and owners alike and can be included in circular walks from Twistgates Farm Cottages. The beaches on the Jurassic Coast allow dogs all year although from April to end September the main areas are kept dog-free. Our favourite beach is at Exmouth where it is one hop, skip and a jump from boot to sandy beach, the grounds of the many National Trust properties in this part of the South West offer a huge variety of walks and for garden lovers, Burrow Farm Gardens, Hestercombe and Forde Abbey give your dogs a warm welcome.
